Environmental Leadership from Congressional Caucuses of Color

The 2021 National Environmental Scorecard revealed that the pro-environment Biden-Harris administration and pro-environment Congress are seizing the critical moment that we are in, and they are on track to make transformative investments to tackle climate change.

Members of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) have been at the forefront of this effort. These groups of members, collectively known as the Tri-Caucus, voted overwhelmingly to advance and protect environmental safeguards. In 2021, all of the Tri-Caucus leadership scored 100% and every member received top marks of 90% or higher on the Scorecard. Many Tri-Caucus members have also led the introduction and passage of pro-environment amendments and legislation and helped lay the groundwork for even more action on climate and voting rights.
