Help LCV respond to threats to our communities and our climate in 2025 Give Now
Washington, D.C. – In response to the Senate passage of the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act, LCV Legislative Representative Madeleine Foote issued the following statement:
“Tonight Congress finally delivered on the promise to provide aid to the community of Flint, which still suffers from a lack of access to clean, safe water. This long overdue funding should not have come at the cost of undermining protections for California’s waterways, the Endangered Species Act and thousands of fishing jobs. Unfortunately, we can expect more of this approach from a Trump administration and a Republican Congressional leadership seemingly committed to rolling back environmental protections. Every community deserves clean water and it absolutely should not come at the expense of clean water for another. We stand committed to continuing to fight alongside our allies for clean water for all.”
