WASHINGTON, DC – With the passage of the House Energy bill out of the Energy and Power subcommittee, LCV Vice President of Government Affairs Sara Chieffo issued the following statement:
“The current draft of the House Energy bill that passed out of the Energy & Power subcommittee today marks a missed opportunity to make progress on reducing carbon pollution and expanding clean energy. While we are grateful to Congressman Pallone and others for keeping out some of the most egregious pieces that have been included in previous iterations of this legislation, on balance this draft bill puts a thumb on the scale for fossil fuels and could impede international progress to tackle climate change.”
