Washington, D.C. — In response to President Trump’s executive order directing federal agencies, including the EPA, to roll back more protections or make permanent temporary environmental attacks in the middle of the global coronavirus pandemic, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) issued the following statement from Legislative Director Matthew Davis:
“Donald Trump’s exploitation of the coronavirus pandemic to help his corporate polluter friends at the expense of our communities’ health is sick. This president cannot get away with telling his cabinet to ‘go to town’ with our health.
“Rolling back environmental protections has dire implications for our communities, especially communities of color who are disproportionately exposed to toxic pollution and dying at higher rates from the coronavirus pandemic. We should be focused on ensuring all people live in clean, safe and healthy communities. Trump’s actions are failing our children and families.”
