LCV Congratulates Senator Tammy Baldwin and Representative Gwen Moore in Wisconsin

Nov 6, 2024

Washington, D.C.– The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) congratulates Senator Tammy Baldwin and Representative Gwen Moore (WI-04) on their wins in Wisconsin. We look forward to working together in the 119th Congress and beyond to continue making progress on addressing the climate crisis and protecting our democracy.

“Tonight Wisconsinites voted to protect our democracy, clean air and clean water, including the Great Lakes,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski. “Senator Baldwin and Representative Moore will stand up to Big Polluters and protect voting rights, and we are looking forward to working together with them to continue building a clean energy economy that works for everyone.”

LCV Victory Fund invested more than $2 million to reelect Tammy Baldwin and defeat Eric Hovde. Spending included a digital ad campaign that launched in the final eight days of the election that highlighted Hovde’s dangerous plans for social security and Medicare. We also partnered with EMILYs List’s Women Vote on a mail program that focused on engaging women voters statewide around reproductive rights and supporting the Harris-Walz ticket and Senator Baldwin. LCVVF also opened three field offices, knocked on 377,363 doors, and had over 45,000 conversations with voters about the stakes of the election.

LCV’s GreenRoots member mobilization program turned out LCV members to volunteer for the Harris and Baldwin campaigns as part of a nationwide field program to help elect environmental champions that engaged 10,000 total LCV members.

GiveGreen — a partnership between LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates including in Wisconsin — raised a record $58.5 million for the 2024 cycle.

These are just some of the climate champions who won up and down the ballot in Wisconsin, demonstrating that leaning into environmental issues is both good policy and good politics.
