Help LCV respond to threats to our communities and our climate in 2025 Give Now
Washington, D.C.– The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) congratulates Representatives Deb Ross (NC-02) and Valerie Foushee (NC-04) on their wins in North Carolina. We look forward to working together in the 119th Congress and beyond to continue making progress on addressing the climate crisis and protecting our democracy.
“Following the devastation of Hurricane Helene this fall, North Carolinians felt the very real impacts of climate change on our communities and our health,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski. “Tonight, North Carolinians voted to continue tackling the climate crisis head on to help reduce the severity of future hurricanes. We are thrilled to continue our work with Representatives Deb Ross and Valerie Foushee to build a clean energy future for North Carolina.”
LCV’s GreenRoots member mobilization program turned out LCV members to volunteer for the Harris, Ross, and Foushee campaigns as part of a nationwide field program to help elect environmental champions that engaged 10,000 total LCV members.
GiveGreen — a partnership between LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates including in North Carolina — raised a record $58.5 million for the 2024 cycle.
These are just some of the climate champions who won up and down the ballot in North Carolina, demonstrating that leaning into environmental issues is both good policy and good politics.
