Help LCV respond to threats to our communities and our climate in 2025 Give Now
Washington, D.C.– The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) congratulates Representatives Darren Soto (FL-09), Kathy Castor (FL-14), and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-25) on their wins in Florida. We look forward to working together in the 119th Congress and beyond to continue making progress on addressing the climate crisis and protecting our democracy.
“Voters rejected climate deniers to elect Florida climate champions in the House,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski. “Florida is at the forefront of the climate crisis, and communities across the state have experienced the disastrous impacts of year after year of record breaking temperatures and extreme weather like Hurricanes Helene and Milton this fall. Floridians are ready for climate champions who will take action on the climate crisis and fight for clean air and water, healthy communities, and a clean energy future.”
GiveGreen — a partnership between LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates including in Florida — raised a record $58.5 million for the 2024 cycle.
These are just some of the climate champions who won up and down the ballot in Florida, demonstrating that leaning into environmental issues is both good policy and good politics.
