Help LCV respond to threats to our communities and our climate in 2025 Give Now
WASHINGTON D.C. – Tonight the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) President Gene Karpinski congratulates LCV Action Fund endorsed candidates Al Lawson (FL-5), Stephanie Murphy (FL-7), Val Demings (FL-10), Charlie Crist (FL-13), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23), Frederica Wilson (FL-24), who will serve in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Tonight we celebrate the critical wins of some of Florida’s strongest environmental stewards and champions. Congratulations to Al Lawson, Stephanie Murphy, Val Demings, Charlie Crist, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Frederica Wilson on their elections and re-elections tonight. Climate change is already impacting Florida, and today we elected and re-elected the champions Floridians need to stand up to Big Polluters, combat climate change, preserve the Everglades and protect the state’s coasts from offshore drilling and other threats. LCV looks forward to working with each of them in Congress as they fight to protect our environment for our children and grandchildren. These are just some of the climate champions that won up and down the ballot, demonstrating that leaning into environmental issues is both good policy and good politics.”
LCV’s grassroots program, GreenRoots, mobilized LCV members as volunteers in Florida.
LCV named Charlie Crist’s opponent, Representative David Jolly, to the Dirty Dozen. LCV also launched a digital advertising and mail campaign to defeat Jolly.
