LCV Action Fund and NYLCV Announce Latest Endorsements for U.S. House of Representatives

Sep 12, 2024

Washington D.C. – Today, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, and New York LCV (NYLCV) announced new endorsements of four candidates for election to the U.S. House of Representatives. The endorsements include John Avlon (NY-01), George Latimer (NY-16), Mondaire Jones (NY-17), and Josh Riley (NY-19).

“LCV Action Fund is thrilled to endorse our latest climate candidates in New York, the center of the fight for a pro-climate and democracy majority in the U.S. House of Representatives,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President for Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “With New Yorkers experiencing devastating impacts from fossil-fueled extreme weather and pollution year after year, the Empire State is helping lead our nation in addressing the climate crisis. We are proud to endorse these candidates who are committed to advance the climate solutions we need to ensure our communities are more resilient and to a just clean energy future.”

“After enduring another summer of record-breaking heat, the environment and climate change are top-of-mind for New York voters and are going to be pivotal issues in the general election,” said NYLCV President Julie Tighe. “NYLCV Gives Green is thrilled to endorse these candidates and we are confident they will be strong advocates for clean energy, green jobs, and a healthier future, and we urge voters to support them in November”

LCV Action Fund’s other endorsements to date for the 2023-2024 election cycle can be found here.

About LCV Action Fund
The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect leaders who stand up for a clean, healthy environment and to defeat anti-environment candidates who oppose climate action. Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 95 U.S. Senators and 482 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
