LCV believes our earth is worth fighting for because everyone has a right to clean air, water, and a safe, healthy community. To ensure those rights are protected, we help people use their power to shape policy, hold politicians and polluters accountable, and influence elections.
For more than 50 years, LCV has grown into a potent political force for protecting our planet and everyone who inhabits it. We have built a powerful national movement with 30 state affiliates, and grassroots and community organizing programs across the country.
LCV is seeking a Racial Justice and Equity (RJE) Intern who will support the Chief Officer for Racial Justice and Equity (CORJE) in aligning our individual, departmental, and team work plans with LCV’s strategic plan in ways that significantly center racial justice and equity. The internship will provide our RJE Intern with opportunities to develop a broad understanding of LCV’s efforts to center RJE in all of our work and how such efforts might be used to help any organization become a more equitable, inclusive, and effective workplace. The internship will culminate in a Capstone Project of the RJE Intern’s choosing designed to help LCV think through next steps in advancing our commitment to centering RJE in our work.
The Racial Justice and Equity Intern will join a Summer 2023 internship cohort that will have access to development opportunities including a Capstone project, informational interviews with staff, and organization-wide training and discussions.
