Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of Rick Larsen for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives from Washington’s 2nd Congressional District.

“Representative Rick Larsen has been a champion for climate action, reducing carbon pollution, and protecting Washington’s public lands throughout his career,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are excited to support his campaign for reelection because we know he will continue to fight to hold big polluters accountable, grow our clean energy economy, and create high-paying jobs.”

“I am grateful for the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund’s continued support,” said Rep. Rick Larsen. “Our work to protect our natural resources is critical to the tens of thousands of existing local jobs that rely on our water, land, and wildlife. And our work to reduce carbon emissions is the key both to reversing climate change and to creating tens of thousands of future local jobs that rely on greener infrastructure and cleaner energy.”

Representative Rick Larsen was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000. Rep. Larsen sits on the Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee where he serves as Chair of the Aviation Subcommittee. He is a strong supporter of climate investments in clean energy, justice, and jobs and protecting our democracy. Recently, Rep. Larsen secured over $10 million in funds for critical infrastructure and environmental priorities in his district. During his time on T&I, Rep. Larsen reauthorized and increased funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund and led the passage of the bipartisan America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018.  He has cosponsored the For the People Act (H.R. 1), the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4), the Washington, D.C. Admission Act (H.R. 51), and the Protecting Our Democracy Act.
