Washington, D.C.- Secretary Bernhardt was quoted today in a Wall Street Journal article saying that he is suspending the Trump administration’s offshore drilling plan following a recent federal court ruling in League of Conservation Voters v. Trump that overturned Trump’s attempt to open areas of the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans that are protected from drilling. LCV Conservation Program Director Alex Taurel issued the following statement:

“Whether or not a decision has been made by Secretary Bernhardt, it’s clear that he should listen to coastal communities and the courts and permanently discard his unpopular plan to dramatically expand risky offshore drilling off our cherished coasts.”
