Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced its endorsement of Chris Bubser for election to the U.S. House of Representatives from California’s 8th Congressional District.

“Chris Bubser is a lifelong environmentalist who understands how devastating the impacts of climate change are for California’s communities and environment and the urgency for just and equitable action,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are proud to support her for election because we know she will fight for a healthy, clean energy future for all in Congress.”

“We’re proud to support Chris Bubser for Congress because we know she will be a champion for California communities and our treasured public lands in the 8th district,” said Mike Young, Political & Organizing Director for CLCV. “Chris is committed to protecting the health of our environment and families from irresponsible development and corporate greed.”

“I am truly pleased to be recognized and supported by the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund,” said Chris Bubser. “Our precious public lands have given some of the most memorable moments to my family and I pledge to protect those treasures for future generations. The recent wildfires in California have only underscored how urgently we need to take action. These public lands are important to our local economy, which is why I will fight to make sure they aren’t scarred by corporate polluters.”

Chris Bubser was born in Pennsylvania coal country and worked her way through college at Lehigh University. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she moved to California to complete her MBA at UCLA. She worked at a start-up medical device company then moved into the biotechnology field, where she spent two decades helping to bring lifesaving treatments to market. She has lived in California for over 30 years and in Mammoth Lakes for 13 years.

About LCV Action Fund

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect leaders who stand up for a clean, healthy environment and to defeat anti-environment candidates who oppose climate action. Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 90 U.S. Senators and 450 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
