Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced its endorsement of Brynne Kennedy for election to the U.S. House of Representatives from California’s 4th Congressional District.

“As a business founder and expert in changing technologies, Brynne Kennedy will bring a new perspective to Congress on the importance of transitioning to a clean energy economy to create good-paying jobs,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are proud to support her for election because we know she will prioritize the environment, updating the state’s water infrastructure and protecting California communities from the dangerous wildfires.”

“While our state is under siege from the dangerous wildfires spreading across the West, it is more important than ever that we elect leaders who will prioritize the health and safety of our communities in Congress,” said Mike Young, CLCV Political & Organizing Director. “We know Brynne Kennedy will be a critical ally moving us towards a clean energy future and work to create millions of good-paying jobs both in California and across the country.”

“I’m honored to be endorsed by the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund,” said Brynne Kennedy. “Our district is home to some of our nation’s most important natural treasures from Yosemite and the Sequoias to Lake Tahoe and beyond. We need a representative who will be a steward for the outdoors and who will fight to support our National Parks.”

Brynne Kennedy was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. A competitive gymnast growing up, Kennedy won three State Championships and qualified for the U.S. National Junior Elite Training Team before an injury ended her Olympic aspirations. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Yale University and her MBA from the London Business School. After graduating college, Kennedy worked on financing infrastructure and housing projects in high growth communities across the world. She is the founder of Topia – a software company that has pioneered new tools to help more businesses compete in a changing economy, while helping tens of thousands of workers transition into new jobs and communities. Since leaving Topia, Kennedy has emerged as one of America’s leading voices on the effects of technology on the workplace, and for policies that enable more workers and businesses to acquire the skills and support to compete in the 21st century. She’s a former columnist for the Financial Times and her first book was published by McGraw-Hill in October of 2019. Kennedy is also the founder of Mobility4All, a charitable initiative that supported refugees displaced by political conflict and environmental disruptions, and has advised lawmakers on policy issues in the face of a changing economy that too often shortchanges rural communities in favor of large coastal cities. Her opponent, Tom McClintock voted against the Great American Outdoors Act which had bipartisan support.
