Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced its endorsement of Brendan Boyle for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania’s 2nd Congressional District.

“Representative Brendan Boyle has been a strong supporter of critical legislation to protect our clean air and water because he understands that protecting the health and safety of our communities should be a top priority,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “He has a clear vision for an equitable clean energy future and we are proud to support him for re-election.”

“From his time in the state House to now in Congress, Representative Brendan Boyle has always fought to protect our environment, clean air, and water,” said Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania Political Director Katie Blume. “We know he’ll continue to prioritize bold climate action and support building a clean energy economy that creates good paying jobs for Pennsylvanians.”

“I’m honored to have the support of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund as I campaign to continue to represent Philadelphia in Congress,” said Representative Brendan Boyle. “Fighting to ensure that we are enacting policies in the House of Representatives that will protect our environment is one of my top priorities as an elected official. I’m grateful for the LCV’s continued work as we stand together to fight the existential threat of climate change, and promote urgently needed legislative initiatives in Washington to protect our land, air and water.”

Representative Brendan Boyle was first elected to Congress in 2014. He is one of the lead co-sponsors of the Transform, Heal, and Renew by Investing in a Vibrant Economy (THRIVE) agenda, a roadmap to create nearly 16 million good paying jobs, revive our economy, and address the emerging crises of climate change, racial injustice, public health, and economic inequity. Boyle’s Innovative Energy Manufacturing Act (H.R. 5165) was included in the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis’ comprehensive congressional climate action framework. H.R. 5165 seeks to create clean energy jobs and invest in the future of American manufacturing in the effort to solve the climate crisis. He has also been a leader introducing legislation to address toxic PFAS chemicals. Prior to his time serving in Congress, Boyle served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for three terms, where he was an environmental champion and member of the “Green Dog” caucus. Rep. Boyle has earned an excellent 97% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
