Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced its endorsement of Alan Cohn for election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida’s 15th Congressional District.

“Alan Cohn understands the urgency of the climate crisis and will put the safety of Florida communities over the interests of corporate polluters, listening to the experts and trusting the science,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are proud to support him for Congress because we know he will take bold action on the climate crisis, fight to restore the Clean Water Act and work to permanently ban offshore drilling and fracking — unlike his opponent who will continue to support Donald Trump’s toxic agenda.”

“Florida is at the forefront of the climate crisis and we need leaders in Congress who will stand up for our communities and fight for bold climate solutions,” said Florida Conservation Voters Deputy Director Jonathan Webber. “We appreciate the work Cohn has done exposing pollution and environmental injustice as an investigative journalist and look forward to working with him in Congress.”

“Climate change is an existential threat that demands bold and immediate action to prevent the most devastating effects to our planet. It doesn’t just impact our environment – it threatens our economy, national security, food supply, health, and disproportionately hurts communities of color,” said Alan Cohn, candidate for Florida’s 15th Congressional District.  “I’m honored to be endorsed by the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund who have been champions on these issues and I look forward to working with them in Congress to do everything we can to combat climate change and fully transition to a green energy economy.

Alan Cohn has worked as an investigative journalist for over three decades, including at ABC7 in Sarasota, NBC, New England Cable News, the Boston Globe, and WAMI in Miami, among other local television stations. He has covered a broad range of issues including environmental scandals, political corruption, and police brutality coverups, and has won a Peabody Award and multiple Emmy Awards. He exposed a South Florida Water Management System facility that was allegedly burying barrels of Agent Orange underground.
