Washington, D.C.- The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of 19 Environmental Majority Makers in key districts. Representatives Colin Allred (TX-32), Cindy Axne (IA-03), Anthony Brindisi (NY-22), Angie Craig (MN-02), Abby Finkenauer (IA-01), Jared Golden (ME-02), Deb Haaland (NM-01), Elaine Luria (VA-02), Ben McAdams (UT-04), Lucy McBath (GA-06), Joe Neguse (CO-02), Max Rose (NY-11), Kim Schrier (WA-08), Donna Shalala (FL-27), Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), Abigail Spanberger (VA-07), Haley Stevens (MI-11), Lauren Underwood (IL-14) and Jennifer Wexton (VA-10) comprise the second round of endorsements for the Environmental Majority Makers program, an effort by LCV Action Fund to defend the pro-environment House majority in the 2020 election cycle.

“LCV Action Fund is committed to defending and growing the pro-environment House majority and the first and best way to do that is by re-electing champions for our air, water, lands, and climate,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are proud to endorse these Environmental Majority Makers because they have been fighting every day to protect our environment and the health of their constituents.”

In just over seven months, the pro-environment House majority has made historic progress by holding over 40 hearings on the climate crisis, taking action to address dangerous PFAS chemical contamination, increasing funding for programs fighting climate change, boosting clean energy, protecting communities from toxic pollution, and protecting our lands and waters and passing the largest public lands package and first climate action legislation in more than a decade. Every one of the endorsed Environmental Majority Makers co-sponsored H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act, to honor our global commitments to fighting the climate crisis. LCV Action Fund will spend the next 15 months working alongside the Environmental Majority Makers to ensure we send them back to the House where they can continue their essential work for our health and our future.

About LCV Action Fund

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental laws and policies, and defeat those who stand in the way of progress. Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 90 U.S. senators and 450 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
