Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of Kathy Manning for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives from North Carolina’s 6th Congressional District.

“Representative Kathy Manning understands that a strong economy and a healthy environment go hand-in-hand,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “As North Carolinians increasingly face the consequences of climate change, it is critical to have leaders who will push for the investments we need to build our clean energy future and who will fight to protect our democracy. We are thrilled to endorse Representative Manning for reelection because all communities in the Tarheel State can count on her to put their interests first in Congress.”

“North Carolinians deserve leaders in Congress who will fight to protect people instead of polluters and Congresswoman Kathy Manning has done just that,” said North Carolina League of Conservation Voters Director of Governmental Relations Dan Crawford. “She continues to be a voice of reason against offshore drilling and harmful coal ash and is a strong supporter of climate action and investments in clean energy and justice for all.”

“During my first term in Congress, I’ve supported legislation to increase climate resiliency, expand electric vehicle charging, build clean water systems, and create jobs in the Sixth District,” said Rep. Kathy Manning. “I’m proud to continue this work in partnership with LCV and to earn their endorsement for reelection.”

Representative Kathy Manning was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020. She has been a strong supporter of climate action and investments in clean energy, justice, and jobs. Rep. Manning is also a strong advocate for protecting our democracy and has cosponsored the For the People Act (H.R. 1), the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4), the Washington, D.C. Admission Act (H.R. 51), and the Protecting Our Democracy Act. She has led efforts to make energy costs more affordable and as part of H.R. 4, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, her amendment to bolster the mandate that no voter be forced to wait longer than 30 minutes to cast a ballot was passed.
