Gene Karpinski
President
Gene Karpinski became president of the League of Conservation Voters and the League of Conservation Voters Education Fund in April 2006, after spending 21 years as Executive Director of the U.S. Public Interest Research Group in Washington, D.C. In that time, Mr. Karpinski also served over 12 years on the board of directors of LCV and LCVEF. The independent political voice of the environment, LCV in 2004 mobilized 18,000 volunteers who knocked on over 1.3 million doors in six states in support of environmental issues.
Tony Massaro
Senior Vice President for Political Affairs and Public Education
Tony joined LCV/EF in May 2005. Prior to coming to LCV, Tony served as Executive Director of the Colorado League of Conservation Voters, where he was influential in vastly increasing the state league's political prowess and fundraising capabilities. Tony has over 25 years experience in environmental politics and has worked on over 100 campaigns, gaining background in issues such as clean air, alternative energy, and emerging technologies. In addition, Tony has worked as an independent environmental consultant as the head of Rocky Mountain Environmental Strategies as has served as Director of Environmental Affairs, Political Director, and Field Director in the Denver Mayor's Office. At LCV, Tony is responsible for overseeing all political campaigns, lobbying and policy, communications and public education programs.
Barbara Gonzalez-McIntosh
General Counsel
Barbara Gonzalez-McIntosh joined LCV/EF in September 2005 as in-house General Counsel. Prior to her work at LCV, Barbara worked in prominent New York and Seattle law firms and earned a name for herself as an experienced lawyer with a specialty in environmental issues as in-house counsel for a regional conservation non-profit. Barbara first practiced commercial litigation, then moved over to commercial transaction and regulatory compliance work later in her career. In addition, she has served on boards such as the King County Bar Foundation and 1000 Friends of Washington, and was Chairwoman of the Environmental Committee of the Washington Women's Foundation. She was also involved in helping form the environmental grant cycle of Social Venture Partners, Seattle. At LCV, Barbara is responsible for overseeing all legal operations, strategies and compliance pertaining to LCV and its family of organizations.
Patrick Collins
Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration
Patrick started at LCV in October of 2006. He previously worked for M+R Strategic Services as Chief Financial Officer where he oversaw financial and administration operations. Previous employment includes work for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. A native of Maryland, Patrick graduated from American University with an MBA and the University of Maryland with a BA in political science and a BS in accounting.
Ed Zuckerman
Senior VP for State Capacity Building
Since the effective date of the Merger with LCV and the Federation on July 1, 2007, Ed Zuckerman has been serving as the Senior Vice-President at LCV for State Capacity Building. He is responsible for overseeing LCVs newfound program area in building and maintain a strong national network of state LCVs.Prior to the merger, Ed served six years as the Executive Director of the Federation of State Conservation Voter Leagues. Under this direction the Federation added 17 new leagues and expanded its services to member state leagues to include an array of grants and training programs.
